A matched pair of wide black walnut slabs, sawn one after the other from the same log, so the grain mirrors itself when you open them like a book. Each slab is 8 ft 1 in long and 2 1/2 in thick, with chocolate and purple heartwood, cream sapwood along both edges, and bark on the edges. Slab 03 runs 25 to 30 in wide and has a dark mineral streak in the lower third. Slab 04 runs 26 to 30 in wide and has a check running down the center line from about the middle to the bottom end.
